Pop Punk? PUNK is not meant to be Pop! It’s meant to stand for an alternative movement. I’m sick of this fad consisting of mediocre guitarists covered in tattoos wearing vests all year round, with more or less all the bands lyrics being indirect attacks on someone. Fads come and go but this one is the worst.

Kid, you have no fucking clue what you are talking about. Punk WAS an alternative movement in the 70s and 80s, but like you said “fads come and go”. Though true punk bands such as Bad Brains, Anti-Flag (somewhat), Rancid, Casualties, etc are still around. Punk has evolved to the sub-genre you know and obviously hate called Pop Punk.
You’re also acting as if Pop Punk JUST got big. Here’s a little history lesson. Poppunk has clearly been around since the mid to late 90s with HUGE bands such as Blink-182, New Found Glory, Simple Plan, the Starting Line, etc. Then in the early 2000s you had a new wave of huge Pop Punk bands arise which continued the genre’s popularity. Yellowcard, Fallout Boy, Good Charlotte, etc. Those bands paved the way for another wave of big bands like All Time Low, Mayday Parade, We The Kings, and such. And now today we have a more hardcore influenced poppunk in popularity; Hit the Lights, The Wonder Years, Four Year Strong, Man Overboard, Set Your Goals, A Loss For Words, Transit, Title Fight, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, etc. Mediocre guitarists, more or less all the bands lyrics being indirect attacks on someone? I’ll play this game haha. So, you’re saying that playing legitimate punk guitar is more intricate than playing poppunk? You’re saying that strumming the same sloppy power chords over and over, and some guy yelling “fuck the government, fuck establishment, fuck corporations, I wear guyliner, and have a mohawk!” takes more talent then…well let’s say Four Year Strong (considering its the picture you chose to deface). Though I do enjoy and respect punk music, I have to say that FYS would shit on any punk band lyrically, musically, stage presence wise. Pop Punk isn’t as simple lyrically as you mentioned above, if you weren’t so close-minded, you would know that. I’m just stating facts here…As for the appearance, I could just school you real quick for being hypocritical. Any real fan of Punk would know that it’s not about what you look like or how you dress. But, if you want to get into goofy fads…I can play that game as well. Studded vests, ridiculously huge and multicolored mohawks, eyeliner, nail polish, wearing ties with t-shirts, etc. Overly tattooed? Have you seen ANY punk band? They’re all covered from head to toe with tats, the fuck are you talking about?Man look, it’s close-minded, disrespectful, and frankly uneducated, little assholes like you that give certain genres of music a bad rep. Get a life, expand your musical horizons, and don’t talk about topics in which you have ZERO knowledge of kid…..
